KolossusAI Chat for Joomla
Adds your KolossusAI agent to your Joomla site: a chat bubble on every page, or a button wherever you place
{kolossus_chat}. Requires Joomla 5 or 6 and PHP 8.1+.
1. Get a widget token
In your KolossusAI dashboard, create a website widget for your agent and add your site's domain (for example
example.org) to its Allowed domains. Copy its public token, which starts with
wt_. No agent yet? Contact the KolossusAI team at kolossusai.in
and they will set one up for your business.
2. Install and enable
- System → Install → Extensions: upload the zip from the download page.
- System → Plugins: search "KolossusAI" and open System - KolossusAI Chat.
- Paste the widget token, set Status to Enabled and click Save. Joomla installs plugins disabled.
3. Settings
Plugin tab:

| Widget secret (optional) | Starts with ws_. Logged-in Joomla users then chat under their own name and keep their history. The plugin sends a signature of the user's email, never the secret. |
| Site-wide chat bubble | Yes: chat on every page. No: only where you add the shortcode. |
Appearance tab (anything left on its default uses the widget's dashboard settings): theme, accent colour, layout (bubble, sidebar or bottom bar), bubble corner, horizontal and vertical offsets (0–1000 px), bubble size, and what happens on page load (remember the visitor's last state, always open, or always start minimized). Invalid values are rejected on save with a warning.
4. Chat button shortcode
In any article or custom module (with "Prepare content" on):

Style it with .kolossus-chat-button in your template CSS.
5. Content Security Policy
If your site sends a CSP, allow your KolossusAI host in script-src, and in
connect-src with both https:// and wss://.
6. Updates
New versions appear under System → Update → Extensions.
Privacy
The chat runs on KolossusAI servers. Each page loads the chat script and its settings from KolossusAI. When a visitor chats, their messages, attached files, IP address and approximate location (city, country) are sent to KolossusAI so the agent can reply. With a widget secret saved, a logged-in user's email and name are sent too. Mention the chat in your site's privacy policy. KolossusAI privacy policy and terms.
